Internships have become an important part of getting a job nowadays because employers want to see experience on a graduate’s resume. Why is it so important? It is because they are a way of gaining experience in the real world. They have now become important for getting any job at all. They are the best way to test if a student is really serious. If a student is serious about getting a job, then whomever they intern with will be able to testify to their work ethic. It is important to get letters of recommendations that make you look good.

Internships help you get real life experience so that you know how the real world is before going into it. College is hard, but the real world is even harder. It is reality. It seems that getting an internship is hard now, but good luck getting a job with over 300 people competing with you for the same job. Some of these people did internships every semester from freshman year till senior year. That means eight internships. What super skills would you bring to the table? How do you compete with someone who has eight internships? The most important thing is to have relevant internships. If you are a computer engineering major, and you have an internship in a bank as a sales associate, that means that you just did an internship with a bank, and that has nothing to do with your major.

It is better to focus on the most important internships than just doing an internship for the sake of doing it.Internships are very important but it is also important to focus on school. Internships are not meant to be a distraction but more to help you focus. Internships are very cool because if you do well on that particular job they could give you a job or even refer you to another bigger company to help you fulfill your goals. It is both exciting and challenging at the same time.

I have gotten several internships but not all of them are directly related to my major and career. I encourage students to get engaged on their campus and seek out internships that can help them out in their careers. It is becoming harder and harder to get jobs now and one way to guarantee a job is to do an internship and do well at it so that an internship can turn to a job. Career Services is a good resource to help with finding good jobs and internships that can lead to a successful career.

Another important thing is to try something new. Even if the internship is not related to your major, trying it out may open new opportunities to what you can do instead of your major. I also believe that even though most internships are unpaid, the experience and opportunities that internships bring are priceless and are worth it. It is only a few lucky ones that actually get paid internships, that is if paid internships still exist. People see it that since students need the credits and experience then they do not need to be paid.

I really encourage students to seek out internships to build their careers and make connections that can help in the future. Internships often help in getting jobs after graduation, and they give students a stepping stone to success and experience on the resume.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
