12 Things I Would Rather Be Doing Instead of Studying

That's right. Who needs to studying anyway?

12 Things I Would Rather Be Doing Instead of Studying

As the semester comes to an end I start to get extremely excited because it is getting closer and closer to Christmas break. Unfortunately, the one thing that separates me from Christmas break and this semester are finals.

That horrid, six letter word that we all dread hearing out of teachers' mouths. Although every student pretty much hates finals with a burning passion, they stay committed to their studies to finish the semester off on a good note. But has any of you ever realized how some people are never in the library, never doing homework and are always on your tail to hangout or get food? This generally happens while we are slaving away in the library.

As I was sitting in the library taking a break from studying, I began to wonder about the things I would rather be doing instead of studying. Of course, this list can get pretty lengthy because realistically there are a million and ten things I would rather do than study. But I decided to narrow it down so here are a few.

1) BINGE WATCHING GREY'S ANATOMY

This one is basically a no brainer. I thought about this one very strategically since there are 12 seasons. I would rather sit in my bed dreaming about the ultimate duo, McDreamy and McSteamy than sit in the library and dream about how poorly I'm going to do on my finals.

2) CLEANING MY ENTIRE HOUSE TOP TO BOTTOM

Even though I absolutely hate to clean, I would much rather do this than study for finals. The fact that I'm not studying would make me so happy that I would easily clean the entire house leaving no specs of dust. Yeah, I'm basically Cinderella.

3) DO MY LAUNDRY AND MY ROOMMATES LAUNDRY

Okay so realistically I hate doing laundry but I would most definitely rather do it than study. I'll just hand wash everything, iron it and steam it.

4) MAKE A FIVE COURSE DINNER

I also hate cooking but I would much rather be doing this also. It might take me a couple tries to get it right but I'll cook for a party of 50 if it means not study.

5) RUN A MARATHON

Okay let's get real honest here. I hate going to the gym but I also hate studying so if it means I could run a marathon instead, I would totally do that.

6) ONLINE SHOPPING AND GOING TO THE MALL

This one doesn't really take much. First of all, I love shopping and secondly I hate studying. I could spend days upon days at the mall and never get tired of it.

7) FACETIME MY TALKATIVE AUNT

Well this is something that nobody really wants to do but if it means not studying, I would much rather. My aunt can go on for hours upon hours about things she has encountered, her daily life and even the groups she is a part of. I would much rather hear about these random things than study for exams.

8) TEACH A 90-YEAR OLD HOW TO WORK AN IPHONE

If anybody ever had to teach their grandma or grandpa how to use their latest version of the iPhone even though they have absolutely no idea the things it can do, it is very frustrating. Since they really don't understand much about our technology today, it can get extremely difficult to explain.

9) TAKE BUZZFEED QUIZZES

These are the most exciting yet boring things on the internet. They are honestly pointless but definitely something to do when you don't have anything else going on.

10) GO ON VACATION

This is something I would do even if I didn't have to study. If it means a trip away from the library I could deal with that.

11) RE-WATCH GOSSIP GIRL, 90210 AND ONE TREE HILL ON NETFLIX

Although I enjoyed every single minute of every episode and loved it, I would love to chill in bed all day long doing this than studying.

12) SLEEP

And of course, sleep. I mean who doesn't want to sleep? It passes the time by and allows you to become well-rested instead of exhausted like studying.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
