5 Things You Find Yourself Doing Before Finals INSTEAD Of Studying For Them

If you are anything like me, you are probably having the hardest time making yourself study for your finals right now. I mean, you know you should. We all know we should, but actually sitting down and studying is harder than it seems. You just have no motivation, and that's completely understandable. It's almost summer, and the struggle is definitely real.

Besides reading this article, here are five more things that you are probably doing other than studying.

1. Watching Netflix or Hulu

OK, I understand that the new season of "The Handmaid's Tale" is out, and for many, that completely takes precedence over a silly final, but it can wait just a few more days! You may even be watching "The Office" for the fifth time or catching up on the final season of "Scandal." Guys, I promise it will still be there at the end of the week, and then you can binge your heart out.

2. Sleeping

Yeah, this is my kryptonite. I'm almost 100% sure that I slept about twelve hours today instead of studying. Why actually be awake and stressing when you can peacefully take a nap. However, this is a good and bad thing because when you wake up you are going to be stressed that you have less time to prepare now. This is especially dangerous if you sleep like this the day before your 8 a.m. final the next day because the chances of you falling asleep that night are minimal.

3. Hanging out with friends

I'm pretty sure that I've spent more time with people this week than I have in the past semester. Whether it was going out to eat, going to movies, or just chilling in a dorm, I always had something planned rather than studying. I mean it is our last week all together as freshmen, but we also just wanted a reason to get out of our rooms and away from our studying.

4. Zoning Out

I've caught myself doing this a time or two over the past few days. When you have your music on and the effort of studying is just too much, you really can't help just staring out your window or at the blank wall as you think things over. It just happens unintentionally! Then you snap out of it and at least ten minutes have gone by, and you wonder if you are even going to pass this test now.

5. Cleaning your apartment

When you actually have to study is apparently the perfect time to deep clean your entire apartment. Dishes in the sink? Not anymore. Floors dirty? You'll spend an hour vacuuming the entire place. What about the bathroom? It'll be spotless before you even consider to sit down and study.

I've rearranged my closest by colors, cleaned my mirrors, got on my hands and knees to vacuum, washed every dish, and scrubbed every toilet before I finally got to study.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
