Another thing these movies have in common is a struggle. The main character or characters have this major set back in their life they have to overcome. In Soul Surfer, it's the fact that her arm was eaten by a shark. In The Blind Side, Michael has to overcome poverty and the lack of formal education. In Miracles From Heaven, the little girl suffers from a disease affecting the stomach and intestines that has no cure, and the mother struggles with her faith in God. All of these movies are based on true stories that actually happened to them. They are not made up Hallmark movies.

While watching these movies, you can feel some of the same emotions the characters are going through because you have been in situation that makes you feel the same emotions as the characters. You know the feeling when you think you can go anymore than you surprise yourself because you do. You somehow push through whatever struggle you're dealing with some of them temporary; others are permanent. For example, my setback is my mental illness. I have a daily mental struggle that requires medication. My normal is different like Bethany Hamilton's. The only difference is her struggle is physical. There will be a time when I will be stable, like when Bethany Hamilton accepted her difference and embraced it.

I maybe struggling at the moment, but I have to keep pushing forward. Whatever struggle you have at the moment, keep pushing forward. You will surprise yourself. If you need some inspiration, watch an inspirational movie. It might be just what you need.
