Ready to find a new place to eat? Somewhere not too expensive but still has really great food? Well, here are my top places to eat in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

1. Christos

Christos offers dishes from all of Greece, and specialties from the island of Cyprus. The traditional dishes are balanced with contemporary items that have been adapted. Their wide array of appetizers and platters make it easy for guests to dine family-style. Christos is very affordable and amazingly delicious.

2. Green Spoon

Green Spoon has dishes that are Korean, plus American standards. The cafe seems sleek and modern. Fill up your stone bowl, tell the server what meat you want, go get some sushi, and get either kimchi or dumplings as an appetizer. Sit down and wait for your bowl to come back with a perfectly cracked egg on it. They have so many options and sauces, it is so fun to go and experiment. Green Spoon is very affordable that offers good food.

3. Cossetta's

Cossetta's offers a modern Italian cuisine, plus a rooftop "taverna" for drinks. With more than enough seating, amazing food, and highly affordable prices, this is one of my favorite places to eat. You can get all different types of pasta, pizza, and salads . . . well that's what I normally get.

211 7th St W #3. St Paul, MN 55102

4. Moscow On The Hill

Moscow On The Hill offers a variety of warm Russian comfort foods, with both meat and vegetarian dishes. They get their produce locally, from the Minneapolis Farmer's Market and get the meat from "Wild Acres Farm" and other local farmers. Most of the things on the menu are under $10, however it does have its exceptions. I like the Blini with chicken (which is two crepes, braised chicken and a side of sour cream).

371 Selby Ave. St Paul, MN 55102

5. Shamrocks

Shamrocks is an Irish hangout for "pub grub." They have great pizza, burgers, and hand-cut fries. They also have TVs and frequent live music. Unfortunately, this isn't the least expensive of the ones on this list. However, it does have some of the best burgers.

Of course these aren't the only good spots. I wanted to give this more food diversity because it is important to have a good selection.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
