When one thinks of the phrase "Florida summer," the last thing that comes to mind is a daily torrential downpour. Unfortunately, with south Florida summers also comes hurricane season. The weather is temperamental, random and honestly, just downright disappointing. Having spent the past two weeks trapped in my house due to this moody weather, I've put together a list of rainy-day activities to brighten your day.

1. Start a book.

2. Call a relative.

3. Start a new Netflix, Hulu or HBO series.

4. Meal prep.

5. Do some indoor workouts.

6. Learn the lyrics to a challenging rap song.

7. Build a personalized playlist for a friend.

It can be hard to keep yourself entertained during a series of rainy days, but it's important to look at this time indoors as vital self-care time. It can be fun and rejuvenating to spend time relaxing, thinking of others and taking care of yourself. But, if all seven of these still fail you, nothing is better on a rainy day than a long nap.
