The Grinch Is Always Villainized Around Christmas, But, In Reality, We Are All The Grinch

Ah, the Grinch. No matter how hard you try, you just can't bring yourself to hate him.

There's no denying just how relatable he is. He basically expresses all our sarcastic inner thoughts that we're too scared to express ourselves. Sure, a lot of people call him the villain, but he's actually one of the most relatable heroes of Christmas. Here are a few times when the Grinch was pretty much speaking for all of us.

1. When we all just need some time by ourselves

Sometimes we all need some alone time. The best company can sometimes be yourself, and when you finally stop cancelling dinner with yourself, it can be extremely satisfying.

2. When you're just hanging out around the houseĀ

Picture this, you're home alone, chilling on the couch watching Netflix, and there's a whole bunch of food in the pantry practically calling your name. What else are you supposed to do? Yes, you're just bored and not actually hungry, but that jumbo bag of popcorn isn't going to eat itself!

3. When you're going out with friends

Contrary to popular belief, much like the Grinch, you do actually leave the house to do things! So when your friends invite you to go somewhere, you've got to make sure the outfit is absolutely perfect. What's the point in going out if you're not going to look amazing?

4. When you realize that said outfit just isn't gonna cut it

Like I said before, if that outfit's not perfect, then there's no way you're leaving the house. That's one of the most important parts of the night and definitely something that requires a ton of effort.

5. When people are playing Christmas music before Halloween

I'm speaking for the rest of the population here because I'm one of those annoying people who plays Christmas music before Halloween. But I can speak from experience when I say that when I play Christmas music before Halloween, it drives my friends CRAZY. Maybe the reason the Grinch hated Christmas so much was because people start celebrating it before Halloween!

6. But when Christmas actually comes around, you're fully ready to celebrate

It's finally time for the best season of the year! I'm sure you're very excited for it and getting into the spirit like the Grinch.

7. And finally, when your professor tries to assign homework over the break

You're too busy celebrating Christmas and spending time with friends and family. Who has time for homework when you're doing all that? By this time of year, everyone has earned a break and a time to just cheer up and enjoy the season. The Grinch got that chance, so you should too!

He may be a mean one, but he's also a relatable one! Everyone's favorite green grouch definitely knows how to deal with situations that we face every day. Whether you hate him or love him, there's no denying that he's got this Christmas thing pretty much down.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
