A lot can happen in a day, and you should seriously take some time to write it all down. This advice is particularly significant this month while Mercury, the planet of communication, is in retrograde. This retrograde can signify that miscommunication and technological glitches are ahead. With all this miscommunication, you might benefit from recording things with some pen and paper. Astrological fortunes aside, writing things down is one of the most basic ways put your life on a somewhat collective path.
I write things down for various reasons. First and foremost, I'm an obsessive planner. I make lists for everything: shopping, cleaning, and to-do lists for situations that are months away. Writing these things down helps not only to remember, but also inspires me to start cracking down and crossing off items on my lists. I accredit my list making for a lot of my productivity.
In addition to list making, I'll openly admit that I do a lot of journaling. I love writing in my journal, and I'm totally okay with admitting it. I love documenting places I've been, people I've spent time with, and emotions that I've felt. This way, I have a much easier time remembering moments that could easily have been forgotten if they weren't written down somewhere.
My journal is my inner-monologue recoded on paper. I go through a lot of brainstorming in my journal, which helps to inspire me in the future. I do a lot of my writing in moments where I feel disconnected and confused with myself. By allowing my thoughts to manifest into words, I can document where I am mentally, which helps to work through some of my mental confusion and stress.
Writing is also a great practice of self reflection and expression. I get to spend time channeling my energy in a creative and cathartic way. With writing, I can document who I am, and see my growth through the pages of my journal. Looking through my old journals helps me recognize that despite the anxieties and disconnect I sometimes feel, I always come out of the situations gaining clarity and knowledge about myself.
I think everyone goes through moments where they feel a little lost and unsure, and this month will be full of them (if you put any stock in astrology, that is). While I have plenty of years to figure out the right coping mechanism, this is all I have for now. Writing and self-expression allows for a breadth of clarity in your life.
Yeah, sometimes life can be a bitch sometimes, and communication and understanding seems out of whack. Rather than reveling in this confusion, channel your emotions into something else. Writing allows for self-reflection and brief disconnections from the troubles of reality. With writing, your emotions can be manifested into something tangible that transcends the private workings of your mind and actually allows you to get your life back on track.
