The 2016 presidential election is in full swing and with every passing day one candidate continues to prove their resilient presence. This candidate is no other than the egotistical billionaire, Donald Trump. What began as a joke is quickly starting to look like a possible reality. With this alarming realization comes a growing concern for anyone who has any morale.

The topic that has sprung the most debate and controversy is immigration. Trump has voiced his detest towards immigration on more than one occasion and proves to hold racist values. America is a nation that has gone through hell and back for equality amongst men. Our whole mantra is literally “Land of the Free” in which we accept all races and nationalities. Should the American people vote Trump into office, who is to say he would not single-handedly eradicate century’s worth of advances the United States has made as a nation?

Since announcing his official candidacy in 2015, Republican front-runner Donald Trump has managed to offend an entire ethnic category. Specifically, Trump has slandered the Hispanic people and those of Spanish descent. He claims that undocumented Hispanic immigrants are responsible for bringing “drugs and crime” as well as “rapists” into the country.

His solution? To make the country of Mexico pay for a wall that will block the entire southern border of the United States from “illegals”. If voted into the position of leader of the free world, Trump would be destroying relations with an entire nation. Not only would all relations stop with the people of Mexico but most likely with their allies as well. Included in Trump’s immigration reform are children born in the United States to illegal immigrants.

Trump plans to strip these innocent individuals from their birth rights as U.S citizens and deport them. The repercussions on the economy would also be drastic considering the percentage of Hispanics in America compose the largest minority group. Trump’s plan for immigration reform is not only poorly thought out but it is a complete contrast to the ideals of America. The entire country is founded on the migration of immigrants dating back to 1607. Whether immigrants settle in America illegally or not -- who is Trump to stereotype racial parties? Further questioning, where does this man believe he holds the right to abolish the American dream?

A vote for Donald Trump is a vote for the end of egalitarianism. Trump’s slogan is “Make America Great Again”, but at what cost? To eliminate the opportunity of a better life to foreigners? By regulating who can stay and who goes? Civil wars were not fought for a man like Donald Trump to hold office. Thousands of men and women did not die for our nation to be under the command of a man who depreciates a culture without shame or regret. Before you vote, I plead that you evaluate every candidate. Contemplate what kind of country you wish to live in and if you would be proud to call yourself an American.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
