I was scrolling my way through the Cosmo snapchat the other day, and came across an article, that was making fun of the article written by Dan Bacon, titled "How to Talk to a Woman Who Is Waring Headphones" If you haven't read the article in which the author demonstrates how to talk to women who are wearing headphones.
After you've read it, let's chat.
First of all, Dan Bacon, I want to know in what way does me wearing headphones scream that I also want to chat. If I wanted to chat with a random stranger while taking I was the bus to class, I would have not put earbuds in and I would have introduced myself as they sat down. But since I didn't do that, and I'm wearing headphones, I'm pretty sure I don't actually want to talk, let alone be hit on.
Men, if you read this article and are actually taking his advice, please listen to a women's perspective. If I was walking alone, wearing headphones, and a man who I didn't know walked up to me and tried to get me to take my headphones off, I would instantly go into defense mode. I would see it as an immediate danger, and look for a way to get out of the situation. So, if you are interested in scaring the girl wearing earbuds, by all means please walk up to her and try and talk with her.
"Headphones are a great barrier between a person and the rest of the world". You said it yourself Dan, so why would you advise men to do the exact opposite? If I am wearing headphones to block out the rest of the world, what would make you think I would be interested in talking with you?
You did get one point right Dan. If you are going to interrupt me while I am wearing headphones, I'm not running the conversation. I clearly had no desire to talk, therefore you must do all the work to keep the conversation going.
Honestly Dan, I would like to watch you try and approach a women who is wearing headphones, and try and hit on her. I think it would be actually be comical.
