If you work on your campus you'll always say something along the lines of:

"I love my job!"

"My job is so chill."

"Definitely come work here, it's the best job ever!"

BUT, if you're a tour guide you might say:

"What a beautiful day to tour our campus!"

"well you know... [insert fun fact about school]

[Also insert fun story about yourself]

"I could never get bored of this job!"

What's so amazing about being a tour guide? So many things!!! Here's just a few reasons I love it and I'm sure everyone else will agree with me.

You get paid to talk about something you love!!

Yep! We do get paid. It's an actual job. We get to show people around our favorite place, tell them the best facts about our school (EX: Joe Biden attended the University of Delaware) and talk about why we love it!!!

The really awesome apparel!!

An Office of Admissions polo, quarter zip and rain coat???? Sweet!!! NOT TO MENTION THE ICONIC NAME TAG! Everyone knows what awesome job you have if they spot you in this.

The steps you get in...

If you track your steps you know what I'm talking about. Decision day is an easy 6,000+ steps. You'll be sure to win all of your challenges with your friends.

The look on their faces!!!

Honestly as a tour guide, you can tell when someone loves your school. Sometimes you get the validation from their parents when they say "Yep, she's in. She's going here." One of the best things ever is to have both parents and students say that they love the school and they're going to go. It's the most rewarding thing ever.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
