The last few months I’ve found myself questioning different aspects of my life. I wonder why certain people have stayed and while others have walked out of my life. I think about my current situation in life and wonder if this is meant to be. I’ve tried to make sense of my past, present, and future. But I think it’s time I learn to let things be.
I'm learning to be patient
It’s easy to question whether or not this where you are supposed to be in your life. It's easy to wonder what would happen if you picked up your life and started over again. I can't help but think this is just a small stop along a journey to something more incredible. It’s okay that you didn’t plan for this stage of life, but learning to accept it is. But I'm learning that some of the most beautiful things take time. Learning to be patient with yourself and others will take your further than you ever could have imagined.
I'm learning to not control everything.
This life will push and pull you in several directions. Rather than trying to prevent it from occurring, I'm learning to go with the flow. I'm letting life take its course. I'm learning if you have to force something, then it most likely isn’t meant to be. By living in the past, there is simply no room for growth. There are going to be hard days. For every up, there is a down. Your experiences are what shapes you as in individual. Rather than questioning why this one thing did or did not happen, focus on the outcome. I'm learning to be grateful for every struggle or hardship that I have overcome so far.
I'm learning that love will find me.
At one point, we have all given our heart to someone that wasn’t worthy. For a long time, I would put myself out there hoping to meet "the one." But I'm learning that you meet someone when you least expect it. I will not try to understand someone's mixed signals. God places people in your life for a reason. You are meant to cross each others path. Understanding that certain partners were only temporary. That you are supposed to take a lesson from them and move forward. So when love shows up to your front door, let it in.
I'm learning that it's going to be alright.
Rather than worrying, just let things be. Whether or not you realize it, God is writing your story. As humans, it is normal to question it. Even on the worst days, I hope you see a silver lining. This beautiful life has so much to offer. I hope you take this wisdom and learn to make sense of the chaos. Take a deep breath and remember that this too shall pass.
