For those of you who personally know me, you know all I've been talking about for the last few weeks is that I might be doing an Exchange program next semester in Hertfordshire, England. Let me just go ahead and apologize, because I know you're all so tired of me talking about it; but I just can't help it. I've never been out of the country before except for the one time I went on a cruise in high school, so it's literally the only thing I can think/breath/eat/sleep/talk about right now. I've been doing some research (just in case I end up going, ya know) on things to do all over the UK...and I might have made a bucket list.

1. See a play at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

I would be going to England to study Literature so it would be a crime if I didn't at least TRY to go to the Globe Theatre.

2. Visit the Stonehenge

This would be so cool. We always see pictures of it but I want to be close enough to take my own pictures.

3. Road trip the North Coast 500

Starting in Inverness, Scotland, this would be the most incredible coastline to road trip (I guess this is where I hope and pray I meet some cool new UK friends who want to road trip or are from Scotland and want to invite me home with them for a weekend).

4. Check out Castle Ward

Anyone else a huge Game of Thrones fan? If you're familiar with Winterfell, the outside scenes were actually shot at Castle Ward in Northern Ireland. If I got to see this castle, I think my life would be complete.

5. See London from the London Eye

It's just one of those things you have to do if you go to London.

6. Taste test Rubicon

My roommate said it's delicious, so that solidifies my desire to try it.

7. Get a good cuppa

For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, a "cuppa" is a cup of tea. I make my own tea sometimes but I am 100% sure it doesn't compare to the authentic thing from a place that's known for drinking tons of tea.

8. Ride a double-decker bus

Like the London Eye, I feel like this is just one of those things you have to do.

9. Take that tourist picture that everyone has

I know, I know. Everyone has a picture like this. BUT COME ON. First of all, if everyone else has it, I must need it, too. Second, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, so you know I have to pretend like I'm about to enter the Ministry of Magic.

10. Walk along the River Lea

I'd have to channel my inner Adele for this moment. (everyone knows the song, right?) Just look how gorgeous it is. Even better, it runs right through Hertfordshire which is where I would be studying abroad. I think it's meant to be.

11. Eat a traditional English breakfast

Wow. This breakfast makes my daily granola bar look like child's play. Did y'all know they eat those baked beans ON the toast? How strange.

12. Hit up ALL the Harry Potter sights

I am one of the biggest Potterheads in the world. No way can I go to the UK and not take part in the Harry Potter culture.

*Find me walking around the London streets in February wearing my Ravenclaw sweater, hat, and gloves*

I literally can't wait to go to England. Even though things aren't completely official yet, I'm staying positive and I have a good feeling about it. Hope y'all are ready for some study abroad blogs in the near future!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
