I'm Black And I Want Racism To End IMMEDIATELY!

For those who didn't know, Lebron James's house in Los Angeles got vandalized with a racial slur on his gate by an unknown person on Wednesday morning. On the same day, Lebron informed the media about the incident and said, “No matter how much money you have, no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough, and we’ve got a long way to go for us as a society and us as African Americans until we feel equal in America.”

Here's my message to my people:

We need to fight racism; it's getting outrageous. The only way to end it is to stand up, educate ourselves, protest or talk to anyone that you trust. Racism can happen to anyone, including Caucasians, African Americans, Spanish, Asians, etc. I've experienced racism before. I've been called the N word too many times by non-black people, and last year, I had a “friend” who tried to pull a MLK prank on me. He tried to deny it, but I believed his BS. I didn't mean to believe it, because I was being soft. Although I will talk to him face to face in the future.

If someone tries to be racist to you, stay away from that person or stand up for yourself and educate them. Our terrible president Donald Trump won't do anything, besides playing golf, talk about the travel ban, etc. That's why we need to team up and end racism without that clown.

Few days ago, I was talking to one of my coworkers, who is Caucasian, about racism in this country. He told me he’s been racially profiled by a lot of white people and police officers because he's bald and has tattoos on his right arm. They thought he was an Aryan. I felt bad for him. Also, racial profiling is one of the biggest problems in America right now. On the news, you see a lot of innocent black people get shot and killed by police officers, because of their race color. Or a Muslim guy getting kicked out of a Delta plane, because he was speaking in a different language. One of the passengers thought he was going to bomb the Delta plane, when really, he was just speaking to his mother. Not all white people are racists, not all black people are thugs, not all Spanish are drug dealers, not all Muslims are terrorists. Therefore, people need to stop racial profiling and treat others equally. That's all I have to say to all of my people.

Prayers go out to Lebron, his family and the people who are dealing with racism, including myself. I promise you that we will end racism in the future when we unite. Also, I want to share a video to my people:

And to all my friends who support Donald Trump and are racists:

I don't want to be friends with y'all anymore.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
