Dear student body,
There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t think about you. Seriously, no matter if I’m in class, church, or meetings, my mind always wonders to think of you. One time, as I sat in my geography class, I realized that I was daydreaming too long to try to understand what the professor was saying, so I decided to fully jump into my moment of deep thought about you and your time here at college. Now don’t worry, my thinking of you doesn’t detour me from achieving academic success as I can always fall back on my weekly tutoring sessions and daily reviews of class lessons, but what concerns me the most is the quality of service you are receiving as a student.
Earlier this year, I ambitiously ran to keep my job as a student government senator, and it’s that time of campaigning that my passion to see you succeed intensified. Day after day and event after event, I got a unique opportunity to hear your concerns and gain a fresh perspective. Now, six months after the initial start of my campaign, I want you to know that even though you may not talk to me every day and see me as often, I have never stopped thinking about you, and I am working hard to see that our school is offering you the college experience that you deserve.
I know. As a fellow student, I truly understand the tremendous investment you have made in being here. I know that coming to college isn’t just an enormous financial investment, but it’s an investment of time, opportunity, dedication, sanity, and a plethora of other resources. That’s why I am so adamant about helping make the changes that you want to be made. I strongly believe that your academic success and professional development is closely tied to the quality of service that our university offers, so when I hear your concerns and grievances, I uphold them with the highest regard.
In the past couple of months, I have been coming up with possible solutions to the issues that matter most to you, and in the process, I’ve come to grips with reality. The reality is that change is not easy to establish and takes time. It’s kind of like when you’re cooking pasta and you’re waiting for the water that you’re going to cook the pasta in to boil. So I ask that you remain patient and know that I’m always thinking of you.
