As I’m packing up my things and getting ready to head out of my hometown and onto my college campus there were a few things I wanted to say before I leave.
1. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who has been there for me throughout my life. Thank you for standing by me, for helping me, for loving me. Thank you to everyone who has ever impacted my life, even in the littlest of ways. I couldn’t possibly address everyone because I have neither the time nor the words that could possibly express my gratitude for all of you. There have been so many people who have entered my life and have left their mark on me whether they know it or not. There have been so many moments where I have been thankful for, living in this town, with these people. Even if you don’t necessarily talk to me every day or you haven’t seen me in a while, if we have ever spent time together, had a nice conversation, or even shared the littlest of moments I am thankful for you. I’m so blessed to have had the people I do have in my life. Thank you, for sharing those moments with me, for making those memories.
2. I appreciate you.
Back to all those little moments. To the times you may not have thought were important. The smallest of interactions, whether best friends or mere acquaintances. I appreciate you, I appreciate those little moments. It’s hard to explain how important even the smallest things are. Something I always tell my friends is to celebrate the small stuff; to hold onto the small moments and enjoy the little things in life. Everyone says that life is short and I say that if that’s true, then why not appreciate all the small things in life, hold them close to your heart. For me, one of those things that I appreciate is everyone who’s touched my life in any way. As little of a gesture that this is, just know I appreciate you, more than you know. Whether we have only had the tiniest bit of contact, I appreciate you, everyone who has been a part of my life, i appreciate you.
3. I’ll miss you.
It’s not easy leaving. As much as I say I need the change or I can’t wait to get out of this town, I’ll miss you. I’ll miss this little town and the people in it. Whether or not I love it or hate it that day, it’s my hometown and it’s filled with the people I love. It’s all those people that I will be leaving behind, all of you, when I make this move and I’m going to miss you like crazy and can’t wait to see you again. It’s not goodbye, it’s I’ll see you later.
