Whenever i am out to dinner with my grandparents, I find myself holding back laughter during the entire conversation. While my grandparents sometimes speak pearls of wisdom, more often than not they simply say whatever is on their mind.
Talking to my grandparents the other night made me realize that the elderly really should have their own Twitter account. Here's why:
1. While swapping stories about my crazy great aunt, my grandmother dropped this nugget of truth:
“If you don’t know who the nut is in the family, it’s probably you.” #yourwelcome #realtalk
2. My grandpa told us that, while on a flight, the pilot asked him to sit up front next to him. He said:
“I was really excited and thrilled to be a co-pilot for the
first time…until I realized that the pilot asked me to move because I was the
fattest one on the plane and he was worried about weight distribution during turbulence.”

3. My grandparents went on a dog-sled in Alaska, and my grandpa, at the age of 86, fell off the back of the sled. While he was face-down in the snow, my grandmother yelled at him not to move. He thought she was worried that he hurt his neck or something, but really she wanted my grandpa to lay there so she could take a picture for Facebook:
“Don’t you move! I gotta take a
picture!” #doitforthevine #picturesoritdidnthappen
4. My grandparents attended a speech given by the Pope. While the Pope was announcing the death of a prominent member of the Church who passed away on October 4, my great aunt yells:
“Hey, Norm! Isn’t that your birthday?!” #blessed
5. My grandpa was commenting on a picture of my grandma’s sister, in which she was decked out in huge hair curlers, wool socks, tight spandex shorts and Doc Martin shoes.
“Oh lord, can you imagine waking up to that?” #walkofshame

6. My grandmother was telling us all about her daily power walks with her especially talkative friend:
“I really just walk next to her and pretend to listen; then eventually she’ll just stop talking because she can’t breathe” #justsaying #squadgoals
I don’t know about you, but I find their candor refreshing. #tweet4grandma2k15
