If You Can't Turn To Your Mom, Turn To Your Aunt

Sometimes you might not be able to turn to your mom, and that is okay. But your aunt is always there, too.

Do you ever feel like there are some things you just can’ttalk to your mom about, or you’re stuck in a situation where you know if you tell your mom you will get in trouble?

If so, who do you turn to? Your best friend? Another family member? Your dad?

I turn to my aunt because she is just like a second mother to me. Sometimes I wonder who is REALLY my mom! Just kidding.

My aunt is my best friend. No matter what I come to her about, it stays between us. No matter what the situation is, she always helps me find a way out of it.

It could be advice about a boy, car troubles, family problems, anything. I could even call her to bail me out of jail and she would... not that it would ever happen!

For some reason, it just seems that my aunt and I are so alike. It feels like she understands me when my mom doesn’t, and that is perfectly okay!

I love my mom to DEATH. However, sometimes it is hard to have your mom as your mother and a best friend. She is the one who disciplines you, the one you fight with, and the one who always takes care of you.

Sometimes the fine line between mom and best friend gets a little blurred.

When you do not have someone to turn to, turn to your aunt. That is what they are there for, I promise! They want the best for you just like your mom, and can sometimes be a bit easier to talk to.

All aunts may not understand you as well as mine understands me, but they will always be there to lend a helping hand.

All I have to say to my aunt is thank you. Thank you for the times I was able to come to you when I couldn’t go to my mom. Thank you for all the advice you have given me; you have helped shape me into who I am today.

I really don’t know what I would do without you, but I am happy to have a go-to, other than my mom, when I have a problem. Thank you for making my life that much easier and always being there to help me up when I’m down.

I appreciate you more than you will ever know.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
