If someone was to ask what was different about this relationship and why I loved you, I would find myself at a loss for words. How do you explain that something as simple as someone’s presence being able to make you a better version of yourself? How exactly do you tell someone that in a world that is extremely hectic and confusing that one person is steady and finds sense in it all.

I strongly believe love comes when you are not looking for it and that is how I fell for you. It happened suddenly and out of the blue. Pulled me in and captivated me without me even knowing.

If someone asked me why I love you, I would tell them:

I love you because I am supposed to love you.

I love you because you know my fears and push me to be better than them. No matter how stupid they are sometimes.

I love you because you believe in my own dreams more than I do. The dreams that I had hidden and been ashamed of because of past relationships, you were proud of them. You helped me to realize I am so much more than what I had been made to believe.

I love you because the respect you give me taught me to respect myself.

I love you because you can forgive me for being a monster sometimes.

I love you because you wiped tears that were caused by someone else. You felt my pain and no matter how much it hurt you, you were there for me.

I love you because you gave me friendship when I needed it most. You saw a broken and lost girl and instead of running the other way, you did anything to be there for me.

I love you because you make me feel like the only girl in the room.

I love you because you don’t let me slack. You believe in my abilities and made me feel smart and wanted again.


There are just some people that we hug and never want to let go of and for me that’s you. It is comforting to know that I will always have a friend in you no matter what. This just skims the surface but these are just a few of the things that I would say if someone asked me why I love you.
