Leslie Knope - University of North Texas (UNT)

Lets face it Leslie is as liberal as they come so what better place than the most liberal university in Texas, UNT. The North Texas Mean and Green was the perfect fit for her!

Major: Political Science

Ron Swanson - Texas Tech University

Ron would thrive out in West Texas. There isn't much Ron cares about other than drinking scotch and his wood working thus Tech is just where he belongs. Wreck 'em!

Major: History

April Ludgate - Sam Houston State University (SHSU)

April loves to joke about death and murder so of course SHSU was the perfect fit for her! They have one of the top Criminal Justice Programs in the state and having a prison right by campus was definitely a big perk! Go Bearkats!

Major: Criminal Justice

Andy Dwyer - Baylor University

Andy is a true team player. He is passionate and is always there to cheer you up. For the most part he is like most Baylor Students and is as sweet as can be but he does have the occasional slip up. Sic'em Bears!

Tom Haverford - Texas State University (TXST)

"You gotta work a little so you can ball a lot" - Tom

Texas State was the perfect pick from Tom. He has learned the perfect balance between hitting the books and hitting the bars. Tom is also able to make frequent trips to the outlet malls where he can "treat yo self".

Jerry Gerguch - Blinn College

For the longest time people thought that Jerry had a college degree...it turns out he just went to Blinn for two years and was a true Aggie at heart. You had us fooled. Fightin' Aggie Class of ...

Donna Meagle - Southern Methodist University (SMU)

Going along with the "treat yo self" mentality, SMU was a great fit for Donna. SMU's beautiful campus and easy access to high end shopping made for a wonderful four years.

Major: Fashion Merchandising

Ann Perkins - Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA)

Ann loved spending the best four years of her life in Deep East Texas. Her laid back personality is a perfect match for the atmosphere at SFA. She spent most of her time hitting the books but still worked in some time to let lose! Axe'em Jacks!

Major: Nursing

Ben Wyatt - University of Texas at Austin (UT)

Ben has a big brain and an awkward personality so UT is definitely the best pick for him. He wanted to leave his past life as mayor behind and make a new name for himself at the largest university in Texas. See ya later Ice Town, Hook'em!

Major: Accounting

Chris Traeger - Texas A&M University

Chris is a true Aggie if there ever was one, he's definitely one smart cookie. He is overly passionate about his university and jump at any opportunity to bring it up in conversation. Gig'em!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
