If college majors were different flavors of ice cream at a Baskin Robins, which flavor would you get? Are you more of a vanilla or chocolate kind of person? Would you go for a single scoop or make it a double scoop? Do you have simple tastes or maybe you love giving your taste bud a fiesta of flavor? Step on into this ice cream parlor and find out what ice cream flavors represent your major.

1.Vanilla-Math

Vanilla is the building block for all ice cream flavors. Math has become the foundation of today’s society because without math we would not have video games, smart phones, GPS, or television.

2. Chocolate- Business/Finance

Chocolate is very profitable. For business and finance majors, money is a big factor whether it is maximizing profits or minimizing cost.

3. Strawberry- Biology

How the strawberry ice cream is made is important whether it has chunks of strawberries, made with the juice of strawberries, or if artificial flavors are used. Like biology, the compositions and interaction of these components can determine the outcome of a situation.

4. Rum Raisin- Nursing/Medical

Raisins are healthy and these majors care about the health of others.

5. Cookies and Cream- Psychology/Philosophy

The cookies and cream ice cream could represent the good and evil in a person, society, or human nature as a whole.

6. Mint Chocolate Chip- Communications

Mint chocolate chip ice cream is the calm relaxing side of the mint with the attack of the crisp of the chocolate. When the two are combined, it can result in an eloquent creation. Like with communications majors who can find a balance between calmness and boldness in their line of work.

7. Cookie Dough- History

Cookie dough provides different textures and tastes depending on the cookie dough in the ice cream. Like history where it is interpreted differently from person to person.

8. Birthday Cake- Theatre/Art/Music

Birthday cake can bring forth a plethora of emotions. Like these majors birthday cake ice cream is very colorful, full of energy, and make us experience many different emotions at once.

9. Rocky Road- Education

Even though education majors start off on a rocky road to begin with, the rewards of molding young minds in the long run will be very awarding.

10. Pistachio-Biochemistry

The perfect combination of biology and chemistry. Some people might think you are nuts taking this major are see you as bold and exciting.

11. Coffee- Engineering/Computer Science/Physics

You need lots of coffee for these majors!

12. Butter Pecan- English/Literature

Offer a very rich experience like a good book.

13. Banana Split- Political Studies/ Law

This major is often divided and split on the important issues. However, when they can find compromise it makes a delicious combination.

14. Salted Carmel- Chemistry

Trying to find a balance between the saltiness of the caramel with the sweetness of the ice cream, but it is often found in perfect conditions. Like chemistry where you need to balance chemical equation and find the perfect conditions for a reaction to occur.

15. Cotton Candy- Undecided

You still consider yourself a kid and want to enjoy life to the fullest before you decide on your major.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
