Yes, it is true I have Bieberfever. I went to the midnight premiere of his movie and I was one of his first fans. Although, I would like to say my fever is at a 99 degrees, because I didn't cry during the movie, I don't follow him on twitter, and I didn't actually go to the concet. My Bieber story starts with me downloading his single "One Time" free off iTunes right before I boarded a plane to go to Israel for nine months. When I got there I let my new roommates listen to the song I said before "I don't know if it is a girl or a boy, but the song is pretty good." Well, over the next nine months the song became our theme song while back in the states the Biebs was becoming a teen sensation.
When I got home I immediately went to be a counselor at Jew camp where the Biebs had completely replaced the Jo bros, Miley, and even, my favorite, the Backstreet Boys in our morning playlists. Fortunately, for my campers his concert was the night before they came to camp. They regaled me of tales of his concert and how he was so hot and his amazing dancing. Being a child of the nineties where Justin Timberlake and Nick Carter were the kings of TRL, I have grown out of my teen idol stage. But for me it was more about the lyrics above all. The lryics are above Biebs comprehension and of his younger fans. Maybe they love him and they aren't so much about the songs, nonetheless, I listen to them every day while walking to class. I have no shame in that fact, I embrace my Bieberfever, for I am a true Belieber. Annoyed yet? Well, as I write this article I still have my new favorite J.Biebs song stuck in my head, "U Smile."
This particular song, really reminds me of everything Greek life is all about. My favorite verse is so simple yet so meaningful "If you need me; I'll come running; From a thousand miles away; When you smile I smile; You smile I smile." At the end of the day this is what your brothers and sisters are willing to do for you. Anything no matter what; they will go out of their way for you, because you are apart of an organizatioin that is bigger than both of you. On a smaller scale, you love them so much that you would go to the ends of the Earth for them for any reason at anytime. I am completely secure enough in my Beliber status to know people are thinking I am riduculous for loving him for his lyrics. At the same time, he is good at expressing my feelings for me so I find it worth it.
