Dear Future Husband,
I am messy. I do not keep my house as tidy as a woman from the 1950's may have. I occasionally leave things out on the coffee table and my kitchen sink is sometimes littered with dishes that need to be cleaned. I don't do my laundry every Friday and I don't keep my bedroom shiny and spotless.
I don't cook full meals every night as I do not have the energy nor time to do so. Typically three nights a work week I will cook a full meal, but the other nights have a common theme of "fend for yourself". The typical meals I cook contain the nutrients one needs in their meals, but I do not typically go above and beyond when making them. I do, however, bake a lot, and that I go above and beyond for.
If I can help it, I keep myself busy. If I'm not studying, I like to be working. If I'm not working, I like to be cooking. If I'm not cooking, I like to be reading. Therefore, I'm not one to be laying around and waiting for you to come home. As excited as I will be for you to come back to me, I don't guard the door like a new puppy.
My style of dress does not adhere to the standard skirt and blouse. I am usually found in jeans and a band t-shirt with a flannel over top. Most of the time I wear a baseball cap around the house as well. When I go out, unless it's a special event, I do not like to wear high heels or fancy dresses. Before I put on a dress to attend a meeting, I opt for a blazer and blouse. Basically, I don't like to dress up like a barbie doll every day of my life.
However, when it comes to behaviour, I have been referred to as an old soul. I don't go out and party until three in the morning getting drunk off my ass. I go to bed around eleven after reading a book or watching a television show. I like spending time alone, but being alone together is the best of both worlds. I can be silly and humorous, but when the time is right I'll uphold my manners.
I may sound like a terrible person to be with. I'm not the stay at home mum who dresses fancy and cooks for her husband every day before he comes home from work. However, I'd love to cook with you and spend an hour in the kitchen laughing with each other. I'd love to clean with you and rock out to our favourite music. I'd love to dress up for you when you need a date to a work event or simply a night out on the town. I'd love to joke around and be silly with you because that's what best friends are for.
I know I've already met you, but I'm excited for the day that I get to slide a ring on your finger.
