We are not fragile. The human body can take more of a beating than you think. It can adapt like no other species, it's why some species have gone extinct and we haven't. We survived the ice ages, we survived after the ice ages. The Woolly Mammoth did not. Why? Because we adapt. Humans have been on every land mass Earth has to offer and we've lived on most of them. Deep inside the Arctic Circle we find Eskimos living in Igloos wrapped up in furs. From the jungles to the deserts we find humans that have adapted to their climates. No other animal can do that.
Humans were hunter-gatherers at first. We didn't always have these nice comfortable couches and beds. We only had what we could carry on our backs, constantly moving. The men would have to hunt with stone spears, not rifles like how we hunt now. They had to chase their prey through open fields and forest and fend off any predators that attacked them. You're probably wondering why I'm restating something you already learned, it's because I need you to understand this not just know it, because understanding something is truly learning about it.
Now, no weak human could survive in that environment. You had to be tough, you had to be strong. Mentally and physically you had to be able to take the savageness of the world around you. You had to be able to endure the punishment. Except now we can't, or won't because we can still be as tough as ancient humans. We've just gone soft, so soft that grown ass men need safe spaces because their "feelings got hurt". This just shows how far we've fallen. Especially us Americans because we were known as the toughest.
Embrace the challenge that life brings. Don't run from it, running from your problems gets you nowhere. Take the pain head on its the only way to end it. If you run from the pain it'll just chase you and get worse. Face the pain, let it change you for the better. Let it make you stronger, more independent. Great things happen when you are independent mentally and physically. To become independent you must break free from whatever is holding you back, whether that is pain, fear, or even an actual person. Don't be afraid to go at something alone, that's where most growth happens but we're to scared to. Don't be, take responsibility of your life, your mental and physical health. Your life is more important. Take ownership of it, don't waste it living for someone else.
If we stopped believing we were fragile we would do these things. This world is just as savage as it was when we were hunter-gatherers. It has not and will not change. Life can suck at time. Scratch that, most of the time because it will beat you down relentlessly if you let it. Every single time you get back up, it will beat you to the ground again. Every single time you think you're getting ahead, it will shove your face into the mud. Life doesn't give one shit about you. You have to be tougher than it. You have to get back up every time even though you know you'll get punched again. You have wipe the mud off your face and smile because deep down you know that nothing can stop you. That's the mindset we need, not this wimpy ass nonsense we have today. Nothing in life worth having comes easy, you're going to have to fight every single day of your life for it. Harden up, this world is a savage place. Get used to it. Only two things are guaranteed in your life, taxes and death. The rest is up to you, but remember everything is earned nothing is given.
"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
