Isn't it truly amazing how an outfit can change your mood or set the tone for your entire day? For my entire life, I have lived for this theory and I swear by it! For those who say looks don't matter, prepare yourself for a new outlook on your #ootd!
Getting dressed in the morning for school or just a regular day can sometimes be more of a process than we expect it to be. We all have those days where we have no motivation to put in the effort and resort to those worn out sweatpants and over-sized sweatshirt. Or those mornings we are too tired to do our hair or even throw on some sort of makeup. However, there are those mornings that may be quite the opposite. When we have our whole outfit laid out from head to toe. Your favorite shoes with a new pair of jeans and a cute top to match all tied together with a glamorous necklace.
But why is that the clothes on our back can predict how our day is going to go, why is it that how we look can change our moods, (when in reality we are not the ones staring at our outfits all day). My input on this topic is it's not always what you are actually wearing but how you perceive your own looks! If I wake up in the morning and have no motivation to look good then I will throw on my comfy yoga pants and soft sweatshirt without doing my own hair. From that moment I set the tone for my day, I know that I'm in the mood to be comfy and not necessarily try. It doesn't automatically make my day a negative one but it does make me remind myself that if my efforts for my appearance are low then they will most likely below for other aspects of my day.
So when I do decide to look good and dress in that cute new outfit, whether it is comfortable or not, it gives me the motivation that if I look good then I need to make everything I do good. Why not?! Especially when others compliment you on your own looks, doesn't it make you feel even better?! Not that we should judge and base our own decisions on what others think of us but it is nice to know that you aren't the only one who thinks you look cute today!
Of course, we all love those comfy sweatpants and throwing on whatever when we go out but sometimes it amazing how much your outfit can predict your mood, so don't be afraid to dress it up a little!
