How To Tell If You're The Mom Of The Friend Group

How To Tell If You're The Mom Of The Friend Group

Getting called Mom, being the first one your friends come to for advice, not drinking the weird red juice at the party and making sure that your friends aren't dying or making bad choices every five minutes are all things that every "mom" of the friend group has experienced.

Sometimes you might feel lame or like you're missing out, but I'm here to tell you it's okay. Every friend group has one, so you're not alone. Sometimes it can be challenging, but sometimes it can be rewarding, just like being a real mom!

If you've ever experienced any of these things, then yes, ____ You are the mother!

That was sort of a Maury reference so just laugh, okay?

You're the first shoulder to cry on.

When your friends are having troubles with anything, they come to you because they know you'll always be there to comfort them. Long talks and even longer hugs, and once you've given them a 30 minute speech, they are all better. Until something goes wrong again (which, if it has anything to do with guys, it is probably something you told them would happen). But anyways, you're never there to judge, just to listen.

You always have the best snacks.

Your friends raid your purse or pantry because they know you have all of the unhealthy snacks that will satisfy their needs. From fudge rounds to gushers to salt and vinegar chips, you're stacked.

You keep track of your friends' items (and the number of shots they take).

Especially at parties, you make sure your friends don't lose their purses, set their phones down and always take their car keys if they've been drinking. Your friends constantly think they've lost something, but you're right there to reassure them that you have it.

You're the suspicious one.

Whether it be a creepy guy that you're getting weird vibes from or the potent rubbing- alcohol-smelling juice that your friends want so badly for you to drink. You always have a good eye out to make sure your friends are safe and that nothing sketchy is about to happen. *sniffs everything*

Your house is the hangout spot.

If there's ever a situation of any kind, or if your friends are just bored, you're place is where they feel most comfortable. This kind of goes back to the whole snack thing, too. *Wonders if my snacks are the reason everyone is always here?* "Who the f*** ate all my fudge rounds?"

You've become prone to the sight and sound of vomit.

There have been way too many times you've had to hold a friends hair back while they puked their brains out.

Your purse is full of non-ordinary (but helpful) items.

Need a can opener? Got it. Forgot to get a fork at chipotle? Here ya go.

You always find yourself rounding up your friends after a long night.

Gathering your drunk friends to tell them it's time to go should be an Olympic sport. You ever see that one mom in Chuck-E-Cheese that finally gets a hold of one kid, and then goes chasing the other one with their shoes, gets one shoe on and then loses the kid again? Yeah, its pretty much the same thing.

If you can relate to any of these, then chances are, you're the mom. A damn good one at that! So wear your invisible mom-friend crown proud and be glad that you're the one your friends can confide in and look up to. Moms rock! Share this if you agree!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
