How To Survive Foxfield

We all look forward to Foxfield: the drinking, the fashion, the horses? (are there even horses there?) Anyways, its coming up fast, so here's a handy guide to take with you.

1. Start early

I know this sounds counterintuitive but all the good stuff is going to be gone when you get to Foxfield, especially if you leave late. Get a good buzz on with some good alcohol before you step on the bus, that way when you get to Foxfield you won't mind pounding Aristocrat.

2. Eat before you go

Super serious, and difficult to do because you leave so early in the morning but its worth so you don't black out.

3. Find a buddy

It is so easy to get lost there, like too easy, so find a buddy and stick with that person. While you're doing that, memorize your plot number and where you parked.

4. Bring a walkie talkie

There is literally no cell signal there. I don't know why I only just thought of this.

5. Have Gatorade or something else at home to take the edge off of all the day drinking.

Self explanatory really.

Follow these rules. If you don't, you'll die.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
