This article is definitely not designed to try and push you to quit, but if you already have the desire to quit than these tips might be helpful. As a disclaimer, I have not done much research on what the best way to quit is, but out of what I tried this is what worked for me. It actually worked much better than I thought I would, to the point I forgot about it for over a day completely only after two weeks of slowing down.
1. Don't quit cold-turkey
This may work for some people but it did not for me. I found it incredibly easier to gradually stop. I eventually just totally forgot about it for a whole day. The next day once I realized I could go the day without it, I just threw everything out.
2. Let your coil burn
It is pretty nasty, I know, but if you let the coil burn it will be less enjoyable. It will make you hate it. Every time you want to vape you will also have to deal with the horrible taste which helps to do it less frequently. Frequency matters because the act of smoking or vaping was found to be addictive itself regardless if you use nicotine or not.
3. Leave it home
Don't let it leave your house. Every time you go out, leave it home. This also helps reduce the frequency you use it. Also, if you are out having a good time, you won't think about it as much.
4. Make it inconvenient
Don't keep it next to your bed or within arms reach when you are home. Leave it in rooms you aren't in or in weird places that take effort to get to, maybe on top of your fridge or other places like that.
5. Cravings only last six minutes
My friend told me that cravings only last six minutes. Which feels like a long time while they are going on, but just tell yourself it's only six minutes, or just stay busy for that short time, then it will go away.
