This moment of time that you and I exist in right now is peculiar.
In our effort to abide social distancing guidelines, we have retreated to our dwelling places. Having been lockdown for weeks, our head-space is susceptible to a stuffiness that manifests itself in not so nice ways, such as tempers flaring amongst co-inhabitants of the same living space as but one example.
Now more than ever, the Universe has demanded that we slow down, and observe the things around us, as well as the things within us.
Last night my housemates and I mounted our bikes, and set out on a mini expedition. A mile into our ride, we alighted from our transport, and sat under a gazebo we discovered. We closed our eyes and took 10 deep breaths. Subsequently, we opened our eyes and perused the environment for which we were in and then shared 5 things we noticed with one another. We repeated this exercise for both smell and sound as well
With set intentions, we felt rejuvenated.
I encourage you to try this quick exercise and rejoice in mindfulness.
