Malia Obama had a brief stint in the public eye last week regarding her attendance at a Brown University party, where she was allegedly spotted playing beer pong. Malia is in her senior year of high school, so she could very well be coming to your college next year! Here’s a guide to proper etiquette while playing beer pong with the president’s daughter.
1. Ask if she wants to play.
There's nothing wrong with making sure she’s on board. If Malia doesn’t want to play, don’t make her. You don’t want Michelle to get on your case for pressuring her daughter into college frivolity.
2. Befriend the Secret Service.
Members of the Secret Service were apparently standing guard outside of the party at Brown. A great way to make sure Malia doesn’t get in trouble is by befriending her security. Heck, maybe they’ll even celeb shot for you.
3. Avoid social media.
Malia just wants to have a normal college experience. What should you NOT do? Post numerous tweets about her that could later blow up on Buzzfeed. *cough* Brown students *cough*
4. Don’t talk about politics.
When playing beer pong with Malia Obama, avoid asking politically-charged questions. It’s impossible to focus on a great wrist-flick motion when you’re discussing foreign policy, and you want your team to win.
5. Keep it casual.
Do not loudly exclaim that you are playing beer pong with Malia Obama. In fact, do not loudly exclaim the words “Malia Obama.” If having trouble with this, call her by a different name.
6. Treat her like a normal human being.
Maybe Malia could enjoy college if she weren’t being pointed at or tweeted about wherever she went. If you treat her like a human being, she might even be your friend.
