How To Make The Best Of The Last Month Of School

School work of course comes first, but remember, college is a time for having fun and making mistakes.

As the warm weather is approaching and you are now able to count the number of classes left until you are free, ever find yourself struggling to finish the semester on the note you started on? Especially when all of your friends at other schools are finishing up in the next two weeks (thank you Delaware for the 7 week long winter break). Who wouldn’t rather spend their time sitting on the green with friends and going for afternoon walks to Rita’s? Probably not most people, but I have come to the conclusion that it may be worth it to put the little extra ounce of work in these next few weeks just to finish off how we all started.

For me at least, this is the first semester where I can actually say I’m happy with myself academically (thank god for exiting the business school, it is not a fun place). I found the major that works for me, and now things are finally going my way. No more long nights trying to memorize information that I literally care nothing about and then panicking when I forget it all mid test. Anyway, as much as I’m ready to check out of school mode, I do realize the importance of finishing out the hard work I have invested into these last two and a half months. And then the remaining Saturdays you can forget all about this for the entirety of the day to embrace the full dage experience, starting with bagels (thank god Passover is over) and ending with accidental post-dage naps that leave you with a miserably unexpected hangover at 9 pm.

Clearly, it can be hard to keep the motivation up on the 75 degree days, but think about it, chances are you are significantly happier on these days. So take this energy and transfer it to one hour of work, then hopefull you’ll be done by 5 o’clock, the best time of day if you ask me. Or take breaks in between studying to go for a walk, get a quick blizzard from Dairy Queen, maybe a margarita from Santa Fe (if you can handle that in the midst of studying, I wouldn’t know since I am clearly not of age).

If you go to Delaware, take a quick second to find the nearest beach on google maps because there are actually quite a few within driving distance. This to me seems like a perfect Sunday activity, and trust me, you will not feel like you are in Newark anymore. We all know Sundays can be gloomy, especially when you sit around all day thinking about what you have to get done and never actually doing it. But if you were to have a nice and relaxing day, return to school around 7, then you can take on your little bit of work with a clear mind and sun kissed skin.

Most of my friends think I am crazy for doing this, but I wake up early in the morning to do my work rather than spending my time in the library each afternoon. In my eyes it's the perfect solution, because I go to bed early, and then by the time I'm done with school for the day I can actually be done and not have to worry about fitting time in to read a textbook (because who really has time for that anyway). But regardless of how you choose to go about the remainder of the semester, look past the fact hat the rest of the country is done with school because that's just how this strange place by the name of Delaware seems to work. Don't devote your entire life to reading textbooks. Do what you have to do to make it through, but at the same time, it's college, a time for having fun and making mistakes, don't forget that.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
