It’s just barely Thanksgiving break and we are all more than ready for snow to be falling and to be home until January. It’s always the end of the semester that drags by, even though we only have three more weeks of classes and then Finals. Sounds like nothing, but feels like years while we are waiting for our last Final to be over. Here are a few tips that will help you make the most out of the last part of the semester and hopefully get it to go by quicker.
1. Make a Plan
It sounds dumb, but it will really help for you to write down all of your remaining assignments and when your finals are, and plan accordingly.
2. Do things Early
I know it’s something most college kids hate, but if you get assignments done way before the due date, you’ll have more time to spend studying and relaxing for your Finals! Plus, it feels so good to get things done with time to spare.
3. Take breaks
Don’t stress yourself too much over this final stretch. Take time to yourself, even if it’s only an hour between assignments or classes, and let yourself relax. You won’t get anything done if you’re too stressed out to function.
4. Take longer showers
It sounds strange, but allowing yourself a few more minutes in the shower, especially before a final or stressful class, can really help you de-stress.
5. Go to bed early
Or, at least earlier than you usually would. If you’re just looking to get through this semester, this is the tip that will make it feel like it flashed right before your eyes for obvious reasons.
6. Keep healthy
We’re all dreading the end of semester cold. Make sure you don’t get it! Pick up some lysol wipes and lots of water from your local grocery store to help keep the germs at bay. Keeping hydrated and getting enough sleep will be your best friend when you’re trying to stay feeling good while you get through the rest of this semester.
7. Keep positive
If you let yourself fall into the cranky end of semester mood, then everything will seem like it is going by so much slower. Enjoy the rest of your semester, and keep a good attitude, and we’ll get through this together.
