How To Live With Worry--And Be Okay With It

It won't fade, but it can get better.

To some degree, everyone has experienced worry. You may have worried about something major and it turned out to be no big deal or you may have worried about something too little and should've cared a little bit more.

Maybe you are consumed by worry. Maybe worry never crosses your mind. In today's world, there is plenty to be concerned about. We also have a good deal going on in our personal lives that causes us to panic. Worrying sucks, so how can we just turn it off?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a magic way to cure this mental battle. But, there is a way to deal with the anxiety that makes it less scary. Give yourself permission to relax. Decide firmly that you are going to stop obsessing over made up scenarios before you allow the situation to come to pass. I know it sounds too difficult and as if it were not a solution at all, but it is the solution you've been searching for.

Make up your mind that whatever you are going through or concerned over will work itself out, because it will (one way or another). These circumstances can't stay the way they are forever. Life is everchanging--embrace the fact that nothing is permanent.

If this is true, that nothing is permanent, then you have all the power in the world. Your feelings will change, your surroundings will change, and with these truths, the worry will also fade. Believe in yourself, you're going to be okay.

Life is funny, learn to laugh at its faults. More often than not you discover what you've been worried about truly isn't that big of a deal and find yourself thinking "wow, I wasted all that time obsessing over nothing." Pray for peace, it will come. Vocalize what's going on, don't keep it all bottled up inside. Breathe in, breathe out and leave your troubles far behind.

"Life is too short to worry about anything. You had better enjoy it because the next day promises nothing."
-Eric Davis

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
