I am terrified of bugs, and so is my roommate. The other night we were going to go to bed early but I wanted to fill up our water filter first. When I opened the door to go fill it up I saw a huge cockroach headed straight for our room. These are the steps we took in dealing with our little visitor.
1. Shut the door and scream
After seeing the Roach I quickly shut the door and freaked out just a little bit.
2. When it comes under the door grab anything (and I mean anything) to trap it
When the cockroach came under the doorway into our room I grabbed the closest thing to me (my trash can) and trapped it under there.
3. When it is trapped go through the list of people you can call to come kill it
So I didn't really think through what would happen after I trapped it. My roommate and I started to think about who we could call to come kill it because we certainly were not. "This person could come." "No they live across campus." "Well what about this person." And on and on and on.
4. Run out into the hallway because you are so freaked out by the fact that there is a cockroach in your room
When we couldn't figure out who to call we suddenly came to the realization again that there was still a very alive, nasty Roach under our trash can. This freaked us out again so we went out into the hallway to regroup.
5. Ask anyone in the hall if they can kill bugs
Thankfully, there is a girl on our hall who is really good at killing bugs. We recruited her and went back to our room to show her.
6. Film them killing it so you can put it on your snapchat story
Obviously this was big news we could not keep to ourselves. We all got out our phones to film this big event (by this time there was an audience of hall mates in our room) and put it on snapchat.I was still kind of freaking out but my roommate got it on video.
So next time you have a bug in your house remember these steps to take. Make sure you have a trash can handy!
