Dealing with your Sh*t

Life is tricky, confusing, and sometimes just down right terrible. But life is also amazing, beautiful, and wonderful. But every person is different and has their own way of dealing with what life throws at you. You know that quote that you see on Pinterest, Facebook, or Instagram (whatever social media site because there are so many these days) that goes like “everyone is going through their own silent battle” or something like that. Well if that is not the truth. However; at what age do you start going through tough silent battles?

When you are a kid and living with your parents/relative/friend/neighbor, you believe they are always right and they will never steer you wrong. They love you, they care for you, and they would do nothing to hurt you, which is true. Then you become a teenager and you think you know the world and you are ‘grown” as the kids say. (maybe they do, I don’t really know what kids say these days!) But your mind starts evolving and you start to see things that are new and questionable on someone's actions towards you or someone you love.

Maybe you start to get anxious before seeing a person, or a situation where you may be around them. And then before you know it, you get anxious going to any type of get together with people in general because you don’t want to feel manipulated, or feel like you start to question your self worth. Or you even feel like you have to tug at the bottom of your shirt because you need to distract your mind from what is being talked about around you.

Now you are in your early twenties and everyone is having fun and everyone tells you “enjoy your twenties, they are the best years of your life” (uhm lies, twenties are tough and can suck at times, but they can have fun moments!) But you still see these questionable actions from your childhood. And you find yourself in a way traumatized in a way because you can’t seem to get a grip on why you were treated that way or your loved one was.

Life is not easy. But if you don’t face life problems/issues and keep saying ‘you’re fine” but crying in the shower because you don’t want anybody to hear you well, news flash, you’re not fine. And that is completely OK. Because everyone has their bad days, and great days, and just “blahh” days as some of us put it. But please deal with whatever you’re going through because it’s not fair when you find someone you want to settle down with and you put all of your traumatizing shit on them. They will love you no matter what, but don’t let someone else's insecurities become your own. Make sure you deal with your shit.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
