How To Have A Positive Attitude On Life

From personal experience, I knew I had to make a change—to have a different, positive outlook on life. Doing this, however, took a year for me to adjust. It wasn’t easy at first, but it was definitely worth the wait and struggle to change my perception on life. Although, I am not 100 percent happy all the time, about 90 percent of my day I am happy, laughing, smiling, and being myself. Yes, I do have some tough days, but I try not to let that take over my day and rain on my parade.

So, in this article I want to try to help people who want to change their outlook on life and change for the better. Like I said, this will take time, but do not give up. There really aren't steps to having a positive attitude on life, but I am going to give you the advice that has worked for me on how you can adjust your outlook on life.

1. What really helped me was watching Bob Proctor’s success seminars on YouTube. Bob Proctor is a counselor, lecturer, author, business consultant, entrepreneur, and a teacher. He teaches and motivates people on how to think positively and help people create their dreams and goals come true. This may seem to good to be true, but it's not. This man has really helped me strive to want to think positive and make my dreams come true. If I had not watched his videos on YouTube, which are only five to ten minutes long, I would not be where I am today.

2. Another way twoard having a positive attitude on life is to read a lot of positive, uplifting, and inspiring quotes. Quotes always lift me up when I am feeling down. Go online or Pinterest and search for happy, uplifting and inspiring quotes. Pick out the ones that really relate to you and make you smile. What I like to do is write down the quotes that make me think of all the wonderful things in life.

Then, once you have chosen all the great quotes, buy some construction paper and write the quotes that you would like to wake up to every morning. Seeing the same quote(s) every day helps me get through my day and starts my morning on a good note.

3. My last piece of advice is to always be yourself and surround yourself with friends and family who accept you for who you are and love the way you are. This is most important thing to do!

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
