How To Handle Post-Coachella Depression

So, it's over. All of the weeks you've spent counting down the days, all of the money you've blown on outfits, accessories, and other festival supplies have all amounted to this depressing moment...the Monday after Coachella. If you're a Coachella enthusiast like myself, this Monday is almost worse than the Monday after Spring Break or Christmas Break. It's the Monday where all of your dreams go to die; the Monday where you can still feel the dust of the desert in your hair and still hear the music of the Sahara tent in your eardrums. Although it may feel like there is no hope for your survival, I can assure you that there are ways to deal with this intense Post-Coachella Depression (PCD for short).

1. Give yourself enough time to reminisce.

This step is crucial. Although it may be hard at first, it's very important you give yourself enough time to rewatch all of the shaky videos you took, scroll through all of the selfies you captured, and relive all of the Snapchat stories you saved. Before you can get over your PCD, it's vital to relive it. Warning: You may cry a little.

2. Spend time with other Coachella goers.

It will give you comfort to spend a lot of time with fellow Coachella goers. You guys are all in this together and you're all experiencing the same pain of life-without-Coachella. Plus, these people won't get sick of listening to your never-ending Coachella stories that your roommates will get tired of hearing. Get a group together to form a powwow so you can share with them the time that you tried to crowd surf, but actually ended up falling and landing in the dirt.

3. Spam Instagram.

It will make you feel better when you see all of the likes flood in as you post every single photo you took at Coachella. Posting on Instagram and every other social media is actually extremely therapeutic. This is guaranteed to help you with your PCD.

4. Listen to all of the bands that you saw.

Although this may seem counteractive, I promise it'll boost your mood to listen to all of the bands that you saw at Coachella as you walk to the library or class. Sure, you'll be missing it, but you'll be happy AF remembering what it was like to be in the crowd listening to your favorite song with the audience.

5. REMIND YOURSELF: THERE'S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR.

Post Coachella Depression is no joke, and it's going to be tough to deal with. However, you can make this all a lot easier by remembering that there is always next year. Whether you choose to do a payment plan or somehow buy a ticket really last minute, YOU CAN DO IT ALL AGAIN. Remember to start saving your paychecks as soon as possible so you're prepared. Festival season sneaks up on us, and it'll be here before you know it.

Using this guide, PCD is possible to conquer. You'll be fine by next week.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
