1. Fireworks

What better way to celebrate the birth of our country than to shoot up colored balls of fire into our sky? Seriously though, who doesn't love fireworks? Besides dogs haha. They are brightly colored, pretty, and light up the whole sky. I believe in a way to that fireworks are a representation of people in our country. They come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors so therefore I think we were kind of meant to shoot them into the sky.

2. Picnics

Who doesn't love a good picnic? You get to enjoy the beauty of nature while eating food, sounds like a win win to me. Sometimes all you want to do is just relax, enjoy the beauty of nature and just eat some sandwiches.

3. Escape to the Beach

Toes in the water walking down and up the pier, eating all the seafood you can stuff in your stomach all at once. Is there really a better way to celebrate? You can get tan and eat seafood I mean come on. Also fireworks are such a good thing on the beach, they way they reflect on the water is just absolutely stunning.

4. Shopping

I don't know about you guys but holiday's mean an excuse to shop. You get to decorate your house, and buy new outfits simply because you can't wear the same thing you wore last year, that just isn't acceptable.

5. Crafts

Get all of your family together and do some fun crafts! You could design your own 4th of July outfits or you could even make holiday decorations for the house!

6. Parade

Because who doesn't love their local parades in their town on the 4th of July? I know I do! Hearing the high school/college band play while everyone is clapping and cheering them on. Everyone is happy and wearing red, white, and blue. It is just an overall great day to remember everything that brought our country to where we are today.

7. Baseball Game

What is more American than baseball. Like really they set fireworks off after a 4th of July game if they play on that day in the state. I guarantee you that is one of the most American things that anyone has ever heard.

8. Family Time

Family time is important during each holiday. Especially if you have a family full of veterans who actually helped fight for our freedom. Doing a quick family photoshoot is really cute for the 4th of July as well.

9. BBQ

Food. Food is definitely a way to celebrate each holiday. I mean you can't really celebrate till you have a fully stomach. Then it is a lot more fun, and who doesn't love a little BBQ?

10. Friendly Family Corn Hole Tournament

Friendly family competitions can be a great way to celebrate America's birthday. Whether it is corn hole or some other game that can be such a fun thing to do including everyone kids and adults. Just be careful cause some people are really competitive.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
