It's almost time for another new year.. 2016. Going into a new year, you never know what to expect, but we all set New Year resolutions. If anyone is like me, I never follow through with my resolutions. With such a busy life, it is sometimes very hard to change things so quickly or at all. My resolutions usually aren't too out of the park, but I just never can seem to carry them out for the entire year. Some ways to carry out your new year resolution are:
1. Don't make too many resolutions.
Resolutions are suppose to make things in your life better, not put stress on you. The more resolutions that you attempt to make will just stress you out and make you give up on the resolutions all together. Just pick one or two major things you would like to change and it will take the stress of trying to complete too many resolutions.
2. Write down your resolutions before January 1.
Just saying what your resolutions are is not enough. When you write out your goals, you know exactly what needs to be done because you can visually see it. It also keeps you on track and not having to worry about forgetting exactly what you planned to change.
3. Involve your friends and family.
They can help motivate and encourage you accomplish your goal. You don't have to do this alone and most of the time, your family and friends will support you and celebrate with you when your goal is achieved.
4. Understand that it is OK if you mess up.
Not everyone is perfect. The important thing is that you're making an attempt to make good changes in your life. It is okay if you slip here and there while trying to make the change, just don't think you have to be perfect every step of the way.
5. Remember that change is a good thing.
Resolutions are not always easy, but they will make your life better. It is sometimes hard to see that these changes will benefit your life for the better and that may make you reconsider your decision, but look at the bigger picture and see how your life could really change for the good.
Good luck to everyone with their new year resolutions, and remember these tips when trying to achieve your goal!
