There are a lot of us in relationships where we see ourselves as good boyfriends and girlfriends.

No, every day is not perfect but the memories that you and your partner make can be. We all have our own opinions and thoughts about what is right and wrong in a relationship as there are two different personalities coming together.

But, there are some things that if a girlfriend or boyfriend can accomplish in a relationship then yes, I would say that you are a good boyfriend or girlfriend.

First of all, you have to be a good listener. It is so important to not shut out or shut down your partner's feelings. If they are having a bad day and want to talk, be there for them.

You want your partner to feel respected and appreciated. Doing something as simple as listening to them will show how much you care.

Next, make time for them. Nothing is better than being able to spend time with that special person in your life. We all know life gets busy sometimes and it may seem like the effort isn't always there. Spending at least an hour out of your day is what is going to make all of the difference.

Go grab breakfast or lunch or even spend time studying together. A little time spent together is better than no time at all.

Be a kind person and do kind things. Little and big gestures can really make a difference in a relationship. It's the things that are true and genuine that are given to and from a person that can make someone's heart so happy. Being kind will also make a relationship happy.

When there is nothing to argue about it makes for better moments in a relationship. Fighting causes unnecessary stress and disagreements. If you and your partner show that you care then that will make both of you feel better and have a happier relationship.

Lastly, forgive one another. You may be the most stubborn person but if you can learn to overcome your stubbornness, then it is going to make a big difference to your relationship.

It can be really hard when you think you're right and they're wrong but sometimes it needs to just be let go. Nevertheless, stand guard. If you and your partner get in a fight where is there ever physical and verbal abuse, then this is not a safe relationship. Do what you can to leave and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.

Hopefully, these suggestions and ideas will help you become or continue to be a good partner in your relationship. And hopefully, you can start to have or continue to have a happy and safe relationship.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
