As the end of the semester approaches, everyone slowly starts to lose their ambition. It may leave you wondering how to persevere and get through what is left.

Like many of you might be doing as well, I have been keeping a countdown to how many days are left in the semester until I get to go home and see my loved ones. For me, this is the best way to get through it. When there is a definite end in sight, it becomes easier to focus on how close it is to being over and therefore makes you want to give it your all.

Another good way to make the end of the semester easier is to give yourself incentives to keep yourself going. It could be something small like treating yourself to a milkshake or buying something that you have needed for a while but just haven't gotten yet.

I have found it extremely helpful to have someone in your life hold you accountable for your grades. Tell someone the grades that you want to achieve and anytime that you feel your ambition slipping and finding yourself wanting to do something not productive, give that person a call. They will make sure that you meet those grades that you want to.

It is especially necessary the closer to finals you get, but make sure that plan out your schedule. Do not take on more than you have time for, because that leaves you scrambling and pulling all-nighters just so you can finish the homework that you need to get done for the next day. Planning out your day might not be the most fun thing you could do with your time, but it will be extremely useful when you have enough time to do everything you need to.

Sometimes when you do the same routine over and over again, it starts to get boring. If you shake up your routine a little bit it could make a big difference in your productivity. You could find that you get the most work done in the morning instead of at night. Towards the end of the semester, sometimes working at night is not the best idea because you want to either hang out with your friends while you still can before you go your separate ways, or go to sleep.

Another thing that might be helpful is envisioning what you will be doing over the summer instead of spending hours working on homework and studying for difficult exams. Think of things that you want to do over the summer -- going to the pool with your friends, going on dates with your boyfriend, the list is endless when you look at the opportunities that open up to you as soon as school is over.

This may seem like an obvious and simple one, but lastly, make sure that you go to class. While the weather changing and the weather getting warm makes everyone want to just lay back on the quad and enjoy time with friends, it is important to remember why you are there in the first place. It might seem like an inconvenience at the moment, but your future self will be thanking you when you have a really high GPA and are able to get the job that you want.

Overall, the semester is almost over. Make sure that you buckle down and put everything you have into the end of the semester -- or you will most likely end up regretting it. It is better to spend "too much" time on academics than spend too little time on it. Remember that you have put in a lot of work this semester to get where you are, so do not ruin it now. Good luck with the rest of your semester!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
