So, this is it. Your first last day of Undergrad EVER. For some, grad school is right around the corner, and the applications are piling up. For others, the real world is quickly approaching and you aren't sure how you're going to deal. Most of us have had senioritis since junior year, but this semester it's in full swing. The finish line seems so close yet so far away, and the path is filled with electives and applying for graduation. You might not think you can make it, but I'm here to tell you that you can, and you will! Here are some tips that might make it a little easier for you.
1. Even if you are taking super easy classes, still (kind of) try in them. You don't want to graduate with a D in Basic Acting because you never showed up. Also, getting on the dean's list senior year looks great on a resume.
2. Let yourself have a little fun. If your friends invite you out on a Tuesday night, you should definitely go. This is pretty much the only time in your life when this will be acceptable/possible, and you don't want to waste it.
3. Don't save up all of your online classwork until the end. I can guarantee you aren't going to want to be missing those end of the year parties because you are taking 17 quizzes you missed.
4. If you are in a sorority or fraternity, go to all of the events you can. Usually second semester seniors are treated like royalty at events, and you don't want to miss out on all the privileges you've waited for since you were a freshman.
5. Start applying for jobs even if you think you might not want to work there. I have had tons of people tell me to apply for jobs that seem even remotely interesting to you, because you never know when something might surprise you. If you end up not liking the company, the interview will be great experience for an interview at a place you actually like.
6. Be that annoying person and take pictures of everything. The semester is going to go by faster than you think, and you want to make sure you keep all of these memories.
7. Apply for graduation and get a graduation analysis done. Because it would suck to find out in April that you didn't finish your historical perspectives gen ed. Graduation analyses are usually available through the registrars office and only cost a small fee.
8. Go eat in your freshman year dining hall. Even if you didn't like the food, it's still fun to reminisce about those 11 a.m. on a Saturday breakfasts with your roommate.
9. Don't feel the need to dress up to go to class. Wearing sweatpants five days of the week is totally acceptable as a second semester senior.
10. Spend a lot of time with your friends. Soon, your best friends won't be a shout down the hallway away, and impromptu wine nights won't be as easy when you're spread across the country.
Class of 2015, lets make this the best semester yet.
