It's that time of year again. Classes are out and so is that GPA you're dreading showing your parents. The most important part of the semester ending, though, is realizing that finals week really took a toll on you and maybe your parents were right when they told you to cut down on the amount of alcohol and fast food you've been consuming.
Have no fear because I am here to share how to get the perfect summer body in four easy steps.
Step 1: Set Your Goals
Take some time alone to really sit and think what you want to improve about yourself. Do you want your triceps to not look so sad? Is it time to squat until you get that bomb booty you've been dreaming of? Whatever it is that you desire, figure it out and prioritize it!
Step 2: Eat Healthy
As college students, this part can be really challenging. Instead of ordering a whole pizza and finishing it all in one episode of Orange is the New Black and then ordering Chinese for dinner, maybe eat only half the pizza and finish it in three or four episodes so then you don't overeat when you get to the next season of whatever Netflix series you're binging. Fewer calories equals results.
Step 3: Exercise
It is recommended that you workout at least three to five times a week, but let's be real, who has time for that? So, I've come up with my own version of exercise. First, never forget cardio. Walking is a great way to get the blood flowing. In between episodes of Real Housewives reruns, take a walk to the fridge and see if anymore food has magically appeared before you call the delivery guy. Second, weight training is key to toning your muscles. Make sure that you take turns with your arms when you lift the remote to adjust the volume. This will have those biceps tank top-ready in no time!
Step 4: Stay Motivated
Keeping a food journal is a great way to keep yourself on track so you are able to see your progress! Also, having a workout buddy helps! I recommend someone who is down to re-watch Friends over and over again and has the same favorite wine as you do. Can anyone say Hakuna Moscato?
