How Life is as a Young Aunt
Aunt Quotes

I have been an aunt ever since I was four years old. Today, I have twenty beautiful nieces and nephews: the older ones are my best friends and the younger are like my own kids. I am so lucky and blessed to have them all. My life wouldn't be this amazing if it was not for them. With them, I never get to experience the feeling of being lonely. With them, my life is adventurous and super fun. The love and the care that I have for them is one of the main reasons I adore my life. My nieces and nephews are literally my joy of life.

When you are an auntie, you are busy all day texting, calling, and snap chatting with your nieces and nephews: Planning to go out and planning to do the craziest and the funniest activities together. When you're a young aunt you are called by your name only because your nieces and nephews see you as their friend and you also don't prefer to be called "aunt" by them. The times spent with my older nieces and nephews are beyond amazing and always up to fun filled plans. There are never dull moments. When people see us together and all the great time we have they start to smile at us. It's always perfect with my nieces and nephews.

For the younger nieces and nephews, I have a completely different and amazing story. When they come over I never stop playing fun games with them: anywhere from dancing, hide and seek, wars game, tag, and just about everything. I am a total kid with them and they make me happy. If they come over and I'm not home they ask their parents to call me and they wait until I get home to spend time with them. Sometimes they call me and ask me to go visit them and I visit them whenever I get the chance. My life is a fun roller coaster because of all my beautiful angels.

I am also an auntie to three adorable babies. They are the most beautiful miracle in this life. Their smiles, giggles, looks, cries, and emotions are priceless and they make me the happiest. These little creatures are my heart and I love carrying and feeding them, and playing with them. I cherish the love that they create in me and they make my life so much more meaningful.

I want to thank God first and then my brothers and sisters for making me an aunt to the most amazing kids in the world. I want them to know that without them, I would not be who I am today. They have made me realize that life is about having wonderful people in it who make everything seem perfect. Dear brothers and sisters, my life with you and with your kids is a bundle of joy and filled with immeasurable love.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
