I’m sure I’m not the only one who can watch countless reruns of "How I Met Your Mother" on Netflix. The end of this television era was truly heartbreaking for us all, I’m sure. However, walking around campus the past few weeks has brought me to the realization that my life here is more similar to that of Ted and the gang than I thought.
1) Ted Mosby’s obsession with the Empire State Building is like your love for Old Main, the oldest and most significant building on campus.
2) Everyone has different terminology from being all over the world… Some people even say encyclo-PAY-dia.
3) Barney Stinson’s ridiculous plays in McLaren’s are mirrored when you walk into a fraternity house.
4) Lily’s “your dead to me look” is the same one you give to a girl when she flirts with some guy you like.
5) Pokey’s and other fattening college foods are equivalent to “sombitches” when you’re freaking out and need a little food therapy.
6) Your work ethic and Ted’s work ethic are similar in the sense that you’re more worried about which color pen you’re going to use rather than what you’re actually using it for.
7) Like Robin, you get super excited when you meet someone else from your far away state on the other side of the country.
8) You have yourself a Jeanette-- that crazy girl you met once at a party who somehow shows up everywhere you go and refuses to let go of the one time you smiled at her from across the room.
9) You never want to miss out on a night out in fear of being the Blitz. So, even if you’re sick, you stop being sick and just be awesome instead.
10) On rainy days, you can’t help yourself from looking for yellow umbrellas around campus.
11) Like Robin, you have that one girl you can’t stand who is ridiculously in love with you no matter how mean you are. Nobody asked you, Patrice.
12) You have nights like Ted where you just shut off your brain and can’t remember a thing in the morning.
13) You and your friends owe each other about thirty “no questions asked.”
14) You never want to be the one who backs down, so instead you say “Challenge Accepted” and face the consequences later.
15) You know a guy like the Captain. The bottom half of his face is smiling but the top half of his face wants to murder you!
16) Your drunken alter ego reminds you a little too much of Robin Sparkles.
17) You also believe that a “Get Psyched” mix should only ever rise and never fall.
18) When you tell your friends about the night before, they get all inappropriate and judge-y.
19) You often refer to the 'Hot, Crazy' scale before making and rash decisions.
20) You’ve learned never to make decisions after 2 a.m. because the decisions you make after 2 a.m. are the wrong decisions.
