How Girls Prepare For Nights Out Vs. How Guys Prepare For Nights Out

So Thursday night finally rolls around and you couldn’t be more excited! After four long, grueling days of tests and papers, you are looking forward to having some fun and get into a little trouble. Now, for girls, half the fun of going out is the time before you leave for the actual party. Getting ready with your friends, raiding each others' closets, taking pics with your squad and hitting up a pregame has become part of the routine. And it is a known fact that the only way you will get good pictures with your friends is if you take them before you go to the party because, let's face it, by the time you get there you've already been dancing and don’t look nearly as good.

Then you have guys, who approach the process of getting ready for a night out a little differently. Their routine is pretty simple and doesn’t require much thought. But in the end, it doesn’t even really matter, because with the combination of dark lighting and heavy alcohol consumption it's hard to even tell who's who.

Girls

Phase One: Is it too early to start getting ready? I mean I know it's only 7:30 p.m… but I still have to shower, shave and do a white-strip and all of that will take time! The real question is should I have a glass of wine before or after the shower? I’m thinking during.

Phase Two: OK so that shower took longer than expected, at least I still have some time until my friends get here. Looks at the time…actually they are coming in an hour, therefore I really need start getting ready ASAP. But let me just pour myself another glass of wine before I do anything.

Phase Three: AKA makeup and hair. It's just the easiest thing to do when you still don’t know what you are going to wear. At this point the wine is starting to hit you and you are finding a lot of difficulty drawing a straight line with your eyeliner, but you are too relaxed to care and just accept whatever the final product is.

Phase Four: So you're panicking because your friends are going to be there in 10 minutes and you're trying to decide between three different outfits. You have completely messed up your closet and are in a desperate need of help. You ask your roommates if you can look through their clothes really quick, already knowing exactly what skirt you want to borrow. When you finally muster up the courage to ask if you can borrow it, you make sure to include that you will care for it as if it were your first-born child.

Phase Five: Yes your friends are here! Someone turns up the music and it is time for some shots while the few stragglers finish getting ready. But you make sure that no one leaves the house sober.

Phase Six: Last but not least, it's picture time! You're feeling yourself and you know your posse is looking good. So before rushing out to the Uber, you down your last shot and add a couple of group selfies to your snap story while you still can.

Guys

Phase 1: The game is over, so you guess that means it's time for a shower. Girls tend to like guys who smell good better, so if you want to have any type of interaction with a girl then showering is usually recommended.

Phase 2: Grab a beer or two and then try and figure out what shirt to wear. During the time that you were picking a shirt, you managed to finish both beers and are looking for a third.

Phase 3: Before you go head to the pregame, you remember to bring some extra cash because who knows what your late night excursions you will get into? So you spray some cologne, pop a piece of gum and a condom in your pocket if you’re feeling confident, and then make your way to the pregame.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
