Well, I've completed my first semester of my senior year of college, and boy does it feel good! It's crazy to think that this fall semester flew by so fast and all that is left before I graduate is two classes and a spring semester before I'll be dressed in a cap and gown, waiting for my name to be called to receive my diploma. I would say I've been waiting for this day because I love college, but what an accomplishment it will be to be officially graduated with a degree in English in just a few short months. While some of my fellow graduates will be off to find real life jobs and be on their own, I will be continuing on to get my masters - so technically it's not my last semester of college per say, but it is my last semester of my undergrad.
I have mixed feelings about it, because like I said, I love college, but I am definitely ready to move forward with my life. It will be a great feeling to hold that diploma in my hand and have my whole family standing there, proud of me. I've been ahead in classes since I started college three and a half years ago, so yes, I only need six more credits to graduate next semester. May sound easy but they will be some of the harder classes I'll have taken. By now, though, I know the lay of the land and know that if I just work hard, then I can get the grades I want.
My last semester of my undergrad also means it will be my last semester of playing tennis at my university. This will be a very emotional time as I have played tennis my whole life, and to think that I only have one more semester left of playing competitively at a D1 level. I'm sure I will write more on this in the future, but it is truly crazy to think about one semester of school and tennis together.
I really have enjoyed my college experience and as much as it saddens me that it is coming to an end. I am definitely going to be making the most of my last few months as a University of Northern Colorado student. I can talk about how weird it is to be graduating and all this stuff, but I'm sure it really won't hit me until I really am putting on my cap and gown for the first time. I am extremely excited to enter this last semester and truly make it the best and most memorable semester yet! The last three and a half years have been the greatest I could have asked for as a college student but I'm determined to finish off with a bang.
