We here at Rutgers are incredibly unique and fortunate for our party scene. This has to do with a few factors. One, we're in a city. Two, the city is five steps from frat row. Three, everyone at this school has something unique about them. Sure, we have our basic girls and our polo-clad boys, but get to know them and they're really not as cookie-cutter as they seem. Take the gentlemen of Theta Delta Chi, for example. We all know the Total Frat Move story about the recent wrongful exploitation by cowardly Internet users. But these guys killed it with the follow-up, raising so much money for breast cancer for Zeta Tau Alpha.
However, there are forever those cliches about fraternities, satellite parties or even house parties in general. So how do you decipher which is which when you're rolling up with your squad to a random house? Let's take a look at a few obvious points.
1. You arrive, but a lot of sober-looking boys are outside holding a guest list. House party or frat?

2. And you get inside, walk downstairs to more sober-looking males standing behind a giant piece of wood giving out colorful drinks from a Gatorade container. House party... or frat?

3. You're adventuring the premises because, well, why not? And you come upon an entryway, but it's blocked off an assortment of couches and extra furniture pieces. House or frat?

4. If you're a girl, you have to go to the bathroom at least 20 times during the night. And there's always a long line. House party or frat?
Unfortunately both.
5. All you want to play is flip cup, but the keg's tapped in less than an hour. House party or frat?

6. You're in a basement where you feel claustrophobic because you can literally reach up and touch the ceiling. House party or frat?

7. There are groups and groups of crop-top clad girls dancing on elevated surfaces. House party or frat?

8. The "DJ" is a random kid wearing a beanie with an aux cord and an iPhone. But you dance along anyway. House party or frat?

9. Everyone seems to be wearing close to the same thing and you're wondering why they all coordinated outfits. It's a themed party. House or frat?

10. Lots and lots of Polo with khaki and jeans and Timbs. House party or frat?

11. You're at anywhere you see those guys you met freshmen year on your dorm floor. House party or frat?

There you have it, a few determining factors to attempt to tell the difference between your classic house party and your even more classic fraternity party. Enjoy your week everyone, I'll be counting down the hours until Thursday.
