Not many movies impress me, I like movies that will make me jump out of no where or either keep me in the edge of my seats thinking in my head, “no, do not do it, do not go in there.” I like movies that make want to throw my food in the air at the theater when some insane happens. I like movies that show a lot of gore in them, I have a strong stomach so the gore does not faze me at all like most of these scary cats.

Horror movies have been my thing for the longest. Even when I was a child and my mother would not let me, I somehow would get my way and end up finishing watching a horror movie. I was not like most kids. After watching a horror movie, I would sleep like a baby until the next day. Most kids my age, would watch scary movies and be scared to be in their bedroom alone, but not me. I’d actually hoped some monster would come busting into my room and see that I was not scared (I probably would defecate on myself in reality). I would hope that the boogie man would slowly open my closet and wake me up to take me to some unknown world that only monsters and ghouls knew (I’d probably defecate on myself if that happened too).

One of my all times favorite movies is Jason Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street with Freddy Kruger. I am a fan of these movies for many reasons, can you guess one of them? I like the murder. I like the blood. I like the gruesome ways that all the victims die. Freddy (who we all know) would attack teens in their dreams as an act of revenge. Jason had a different style of killing his victims, he would attack them in their dreams but would out of nowhere appear where teens are camping and murder them. Far more different than Freddy, both had their own style and I loved that. One scene, Freddy attacks a kid (real life Johnny Depp) by grabbing him from out of his bed and killing him. The kid’s blood exploded all over the ceiling. One scene I loved from one of the Jason films was when Jason grabbed a girl by her sleeping bag and hit her against a tree…that is one cold-blooded dude.

Some people do not like horror movies and the reason is because they are fruit loops that can stand a little gore. Seriously? If you can sit through an entire horror movie, you pretty much have life made, nothing can ever scare you. You truly can do whatever gross thing you can do out there in the world. If you have a stomach that is strong enough to withstand guts and heads exploding, you can probably eat bugs like it is nothing; you are a savage like me (I would not eat bugs, though)!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
