I Hope My Parents Know...

I will never be able to thank my parents enough for everything they have done for me the past 18 years but there are so many things I hope they know.

I hope my parents know how grateful I am for all of the things they have given up for the sake of our family. Both of my parents have made enormous sacrifices, so many that I can't even begin to name them all. But I'm grateful for each and every one.

I hope my parents know how lucky I feel to be their daughter. I have not been an easy child in the slightest. To be quite honest think any other couple would have given up. I've broken just about every rule they set for me (and did things they didn't even think to make rules against) and have been the cause of hundreds of headaches. Thank you for claiming me even when I embarrass you.

I hope my parents know they taught me what love really is. My parents love me unconditionally. Trust me, I know its unconditional because they would have kicked me out a long time ago if it weren't. I am so blessed to have parents who forgive me for my mistakes. Even though they may not always like me, they always remind me that they love me.

I hope my parents know how thankful I am to have them. My parents have always been there for me. Whether it was answering the phone at 3am and pretending they could understand what I was saying through the tears or repeating advice over and over again because I was too stubborn to take it the first 10 times, they did it.

I hope my parents know that they taught me how to be independent. I know many parents who try to solve every problem their child has for them. But my parents love me enough to let me fail. They knew that sometimes the best way for me to learn and grow as a person was to let me mess things up. Rather than giving me all the answers, they showed me where to look in order to find them. So thank you for easing me into adulthood with loving force.

I hope my parents know that they are everything I want to be. My parents have shown me what true love and a healthy relationship looks like. Because of them, I will never settle for a love less than theirs. Just by looking at them it is amazingly clear that they're still in love after all these years. That's so rare and so special and I hope to have that someday. (#relationshipgoals all the way, baby)

I hope my parents know they mean the world to me. They have given me everything and I hope one day I can repay them for that. My parents have mastered the art of being my friend and being my parent. Somehow they always knew which role I need them to play. Because of that, we share an incredible bond that I am forever thankful for.

I hope my parents know how hard I am trying to make them proud. My parents have given me a life where I can chase every dream I have ever had. They have made it possible for me I know that they believe I can achieve every goal I have set for myself and there is nothing in this world I want more than to make them proud.

I hope my parents know that I will never stop thanking or appreciating them. Despite the length of this article, its not enough. I hope they know that they are simply the best and that I love them more than words can say.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
